This is the story of how I came to be. It's a story of generational displacement told using mixed metaphors of nature. I was inspired by the realization that nearly every generation of my family on both sides travelled great distances from where they were born, seeking freedom, economic opportunities, and dreams. I carried on this bitter sweet tradition. And was inspired to convey it in this short film.

Though I’ve worked primarily in 3D for the last decade, I found the urge to tell this story overwhelming. Realizing that the task was too large to accomplish in 3D on my own, I narrowed my focus, stripped it down to it’s essentials and to my amazement, the film was done in five months. Painted and animated in Procreate and composited in After Effects and Premiere, the short also incorporates a few 3D touches. In the process I learned so much, both technical and artistic, and completing this film has given me the confidence to pursue new creative goals.
